| There’s hope! There’s Mahindra Satyam Foundation!! |
| My name is Bandoba Chavhan; I am 19 years old and I recently completed my 10th with 76% toping Pune division -Night School. |
| I come from an economically deprived family living in one of the slums of Pune. I have one sister, older to me and married. My Father works as a laborer, but most of the time he is unemployed. My mother works as a maid servant and earns around Rs. 800/- per month. After completing 6th standard, I decided to earn to support my parents and switched to the Night School. It is 4 years now, since I have been earning and studying. Between my mother and me, we earn around Rs. 2500/- per month which is barely enough to run the house. It was my mother’s constant encouragement and support which enabled me to continue my studies even in such worse conditions. |
| When I was in class 9, Mahindra Satyam Foundation-volunteers started conducting Spoken English classes every Thursday evening. The classes were very interesting and interactive, and soon, I found myself eagerly waiting for Thursday classes. I also bagged a scholarship of Rs. 3000/- from Mahindra Satyam Foundation in class 10 and that really encouraged me to study further and attain good marks in class 10. The credit for my achievement goes to my mother, my teachers and Mahindra Satyam Foundation volunteers. After completing class 10, I wanted to continue studies through Night College while working full time. However, Mahindra Satyam Foundation team announced a scholarship of Rs. 1000/- per month and now I am attending a good day- college in Commerce stream. My dream is to become a Chartered Accountant and I will strive hard to become one. I wish to succeed in life and take care of my mother who does not keep well these days. My heartfelt thanks to Mahindra Satyam Foundation for showing me the path of success. |

| The brighter side of life… |
| “My name is Neelima Vishnubhotia and I am a Post graduate in Economics. Though qualified, I was not able to secure a job as I am ortho disabled. At one point of time I was going through depression and low self esteem. It was during that period Mahindra Satyam Foundation identified me for training and placement. After a short but intensive training I was offered a job as a call taker with a salary of Rs. 5,000 per month. Financial independence boosted my self confidence and shortly afterwards I got married too. Thanks to Mahindra Satyam Foundation, I am leading a normal life.” |

| The most precious gift anyone can give or receive! |
| My name is Amit Khemnani, an associate of Mahindra Satyam. Earlier, I never thought about donating blood or the need for it. Until a medical emergency struck the family. We were in desperate need of blood. I still remember the struggle I went through, to arrange for the blood. The incident opened my eyes and made me realize the importance of blood donation and how precious a gift it is to everyone. |
| My father is a Diabetic and a Kidney patient. He suffered a heart attack, which damaged two of his arteries severely, requiring a by-pass surgery for which 10 units of AB+ve fresh blood was required. My family and I were frantically running from pillar to post to arrange for blood as we were new to the city. Finally, it was Mahindra Satyam associates, who rallied around us and promptly donated the required amount of blood. It was a really difficult situation to manage which I couldn’t have come out of without their help. My heartfelt thanks to all the donors who helped me in my hour of need. |
| I sincerely appeal to everyone to participate actively in blood donation camps and gift this precious life giving fluid. You never know when a life needs to be saved. |

“My name is Ch. Sushma Reddy, and I am an orphan. I have discontinued my studies after Intermediate. As I studied in the vernacular medium ( Telugu), my conversation skills in English was poor and my knowledge about computers was nil, so chances of my getting a decent job was a distant dream. I came to know about the IT school run by Mahindra Satyam Foundation from one of my friends and joined it. For two months I attended classes in basic computer skills and English. After successfully completing the course I was given placement assistance and was selected as a Front Office Executive in a Private Limited company, with a salary of Rs. 5000/- per month. With financial independence, I gained self confidence and I am leading life on my own with dignity - thanks to Mahindra Satyam Foundation.” |
